Matic Novak

Matic Novak has joined (the then) Colja, Rojs & Partnerji in 2008 after obtaining his LL.M. degree in the Netherlands and after his work at the Nyenrode Business Universiteit.

Matic advises both corporates and banks primarily on M&A transactions and restructurings. He is also active in the field of media law and advises on general corporate and commercial matters.

The range of transactions on which Matic has recently advised includes privatizations, private acquisitions, joint ventures and restructurings. Matic has in the past advised many domestic and international clients, including several foreign banking groups, equity houses and strategic investors.

Highlights include advising/representing

  • A multinational media corporation, with respect to a complex joint venture transaction with the largest Slovenian telecommunications company;
  • A multinational bank, with respect to the sale of a large hotel complex in an asset deal;
  • One of the largest private companies in the region with respect to the acquisition of a Slovenia-based retailer;
  • US based manufacturer of luxury home and lifestyle products, with respect to its acquisition of one of the world’s leading producers of glass ware in its branch;
  • US based provider of toilet repair products, with respect to its acquisition of manufacturer of thermoplastic products;
  • Tyre manufacturer in its acquisition of regional trademarks (involving trademark transfers in several jurisdictions);
